A Prophet's Life: Grace & Douglas Pomroy

Douglas and Grace Pomroy.jpg

Douglas and Grace Pomroy were both born and raised in and around Cardiff, where they currently live. Grace, though, spent about eight years in the suburbs of Chicago as a teenager. She then moved back to the UK in 2018, believing that was where the Lord was calling her.

Douglas and Grace met in church and got married a year later. They now have four children, and Grace spends much of her time looking after them and homeschooling the older two. Douglas has a job in the city and is also doing a part-time theology master's degree.

Here's what Douglas and Grace had to say when we asked them a few questions:

1. How did you get involved with Invictus Prophetic Global (IPG) and what are you doing to assist them?

We met IPG when they held an event at the church we attended at the time. Having got involved in Stuck2Struck (S2S) as participants, we later were able to get more involved. Currently, Douglas leads the Monday Bible study and Grace leads year one of S2S as well as being a part of the Call of the Wild programme.

2.Where is God leading you in the near/distant future?

We are pursuing Him and currently want to be faithful spouses, faithful parents, faithful friends, and faithful where He has placed us. We know He has more planned and are pursuing Him for those next steps.

3. What is the craziest thing the Lord has asked you to do?

Grace: The craziest thing was leaving my friends and home, and changing my life trajectory to move back to Wales. It completely changed the plans for my life, but knowing I was walking in God's plan gave me peace and purpose in the midst of the craziness.

Douglas: Since I was a child, I always thought I would finish high school, go to university, and probably meet someone whilst studying. During my last years in high school, God called me to lay down those plans and follow His calling. This meant staying at home, getting a job, and interning at my local church. It seemed like a crazy decision at the time, but I knows it was worth following.

4. What is God saying to you right now?

Douglas: In church we have been learning about keeping covenant relationships and what covenant friendship looks like. True Christian relationships require a lot of work, a lot of time, and a lot of love! But there is also a big reward; life-long, stand-through-all friendships. I am learning more about being a good friend and following Christ's example in this.

Grace: In the midst of the times and seasons that we are going through, it is easy to get distracted and focus on what is happening around us. I believe the Lord is calling us to focus on Him and on what it looks like to build His kingdom in and where we are. We are not to lose sight of the small opportunities, but to press in for all God has for us.
