A Prophet’s Life: Jing Liu

Jing Liu is a medical geneticist living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She’s a mother of two and says she’s married to one of the most amazing men in the world. In her free time, she enjoys caring for plants and studying the Bible—two things that bring her peace and joy.
We asked Jing a few questions to get to know her better.
1. How did you come to live in Winnipeg?
I moved to Winnipeg 13 years ago for a unique job opportunity in my field. It wasn’t something I could find just anywhere, and over time, I came to realize that this move was part of God’s plan. He led me to my home church, Soul Sanctuary, and my dear friend who is the sister I never had. Later, I met Rebecca King, and that connection eventually brought me into the heart of Invictus Prophetic Global
2. When and how did you become a follower of Christ?
I became a follower of Christ 10 years ago, during a very difficult time in my life. One Thursday night, a man knocked on my door and asked if he could pray for me. I still remember the warmth of the tears that streamed down my face as he prayed. Before leaving, he gave me his phone number and invited me to his church. I felt it was a sign from God because the last four digits of his number is my birthday. That Sunday, my family and I went to the church, and it happened to be the first day of Advent in 2015. That day marked the beginning of my journey with Jesus.
3. Tell us about your prophetic journey.
My prophetic journey began in March 2022, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a dark and uncertain time, but God is faithful. He connected me with a retired co-worker, whom I hadn’t spoken to in five year. During our first prayer meeting, I experienced something supernatural and inexplicable—the baptism of the Holy Spirit—which led me to seek God ever more fervently and eventually meet Rebecca King.
4. What are you doing with Invictus right now?
Today, I serve as the leader of Invictus Prophetic Canada, a branch of Invictus Prophetic Global. We’re working diligently to establish our official status in Canada so we can issue donation receipts to Canadian donors. This will help us grow our mission and continue our work in prophetic ministry, education, and poverty relief.
5. Where is God leading you?
God has placed me as a beacon of light within the healthcare system, calling me to be His hands and feet, eyes and ears, and to extend His love and grace to those He brings into my path. He is also guiding me in the journey of establishing Invictus Prophetic Canada, a process filled with details and nuances, excitement and frustration. Through it all, I am deeply grateful for how He is working in me—instilling patience, teaching me to wait on His timing, and reminding me not to act out of stress or urgency.
6. What is God saying to you right now?
Since January 2025, I have been carrying this word from the Lord: “It is time to be born and to fulfill My plan and purpose.” I believe this is both personal and corporate—for myself and for Invictus Prophetic Canada. I am in awe of what God has been doing in my life, carrying me in the secret place for the past nine years. He has not only restored the solid foundation of Christ Jesus in me, but has also been preparing my hands for battle and sharpening my spiritual discernment.
Since January, I have sensed a significant shift in the spirit, as if both IPC and I are moving through a birth canal, the squeeze, the push and the intense darkness. Yet, God is faithful. Just as a mother endures pain and emotion to bring forth new life, I believe God is doing the same, and even more. “It is time to be born and to fulfill My plan and purpose,” says the Lord. Let us be willing and ready, strong and courageous!
Joshua 1:9 NIV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a NIV
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die.
Matthew 28:18-20 NIV
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
